The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult year, winning just one match at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.

Currently training with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a hard-fought three-set victory over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's initial title since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface after March of that year.

"This title is in dedication of my second daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I won when my child her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six title deciders, comprising in the German tournament previously this season.

The competitors swapped service breaks in the middle set before Moutet, attempting for his initial ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to push for a third set.
Moutet rescued four early-game break points in a close third set before Medvedev secured a break to that score to serve for the match.
Suitably, he earned victory with a shot at the net area, with Moutet incapable to manage a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
